Mr. Peter J. Zawada has 34 years of combined military and civilian experience and was recently appointed the KAIROS Inc. Director of Strategic Programs.

 

Throughout his combined military, industry, and civil service career, Mr. Zawada has served in a variety of capacities, including US Marine warfighter and leader, industry leader, and government senior leader, responsible for capability, system, and subsystem deliveries as well as personnel and services supporting the Naval Aviation Enterprise. Mr. Zawada served as a senior leader and primary interface to the US Navy and Marine Corps Systems Commands, Program Executive Offices, and other Department of Defense organizations, providing senior leadership to assist with program execution, program partnering, resource development, and staffing. Before coming aboard at KAIROS Inc., Mr. Zawada has held a variety of leadership positions, including the Naval Aviation Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) Director of Program Management, Portfolio Manager and Division Director, a Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) Deputy Program Manager, an Industry Executive Program Director, and a US Marine Corps Staff Seargeant.

 

Mr. Zawada graduated from Park University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree and from Johns Hopkins University with a Master of Science degree in 2005. He completed the Naval Post Graduate School Naval Senior Leaders Seminar, is a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute, and is a graduate of the US Navy Bridging the Gap Leadership Program.

 

Mr. Zawada currently resides in Leonardtown, MD, with his wife, Katherine, and his Boykin Spaniel, Mishka. He has three children, Amber, Joseph, and Emily, who are all acquisition and programmatic professionals supporting the Department of Defense.
